The Irvington Fire Department is sad to announce the passing of retired firefighter Robert "Bip" Thombs. During his service to the community Bip served as firefighter for 21 years and was past president of the fire company. Bip will be especially missed on Memorial Day as he was a constant fixture proudly carrying the POW/MIA flag leading he parade.

On Saturday, February 18th at approximately 5:57PM, the Irvington Volunteer Fire Department was dispatched to Beckett Close in the Legend Hollow Complex for a dog in a pond with a child following in after. During his service to the community Donald has held the position of Captain of Fire Prevention, teaching members of the community the lessons of fire safety and prevention.
