Firefighters Attend Ice Rescue Training in New Hampshire

- On Saturday, March 6th firefighters attended an Ice Rescue Technician course in Harrisville, New Hampshire. This course is designed as a foundational course for all public safety and rescue professionals. Firefighters extinguish blaze on Main Street
MARCH 05
- Irvington Firefighters were called to the scene of a fire Friday afternoon after contractors working on a roof started a small fire. Embers from the roof dropped down between the buildings and ignited debris and siding in between the buildings. New Engine 177 delivered
JANUARY 25
- The New Engine 177 was delivered to Irvington Monday afternoon. Built by 4GuysFire in Meyersdale Pa, the 2009 Spartan Gladator chassis will replace a 1989 FMC/Simon-Duplex. Engine 177 serves many purposes for the Village of Irvington, primary responses include; car accidents/extrication, car fires, brush fires, hazardous materials calls, wires down, carbon monoxide and gas leaks. IFD responds to multivehicle crash on SMRP ramp
DECEMBER 13
- Cold temperatures and drizzle created havoc around the area Sunday morning, December 13th. The ramp from I-87 south to Saw Mill River Parkway north in Elmsford turned into a sheet of ice causing more than 15 vehicles to pile up. Irvington and Ardsley Fire Departments were dispatched to assist while Elmsford was out on additional calls. Some occupants were transported to the hospital with minor injuries ... Truck Committee makes pre-paint inspection of the new Engine 177
OCTOBER 30
- Six members of the new truck committee spent two days at 4 Guys fire truck manufacturer in Meyersdale, Pennsylvania. During the inspection the committee reviewed all aspects of the truck with representatives from the various departments including pump layout, electrical, lettering and the finish/fabrication group.
