Irvington Firefighters participate in Battalion 14 drill

Irvington firefighters participated in Battalion 14 joint training sessions held at the Westchester County Fire Training Center last week. Fire departments from Ardsley, Dobbs Ferry, Elmsford, Hastings, Irvington, Sleepy Hollow and Tarrytown combined resources and trained on various fire suppression, search and rescue techniques. Irvington responds to auto accident

On Saturday evening, April 19th Irvington Firefighters and members of the Irvington Volunteer Ambulance Corps responded to the report of a overturned vehicle with entrapment on the Saw Mill River Parkway. Firefighters stabilized the overturned jeep and assisted with the extrication of the unconscious passenger. Firefighters remained on scene with Westchester County Police during the investigation.... Irvington Firefighters and their guests enjoyed an evening of dinner and dancing on Friday, April 18th at Abigail Kirsh Tappan Hill Mansion. Vice President Louis Lambros began the night by introducing the new officers of the department and thanking outgoing members. At 9:40 AM on March 27th, the Dobbs Ferry Fire Department received multiple calls reporting a smoke condition at the building housing a pizza shop located at Main and Cedar streets. Upon arrival, DFFD's Chief 2091 was confronted with heavy smoke and fire showing at the front door. 60 Control was notified of a working fire and a 10-75 response was dispatched.
