IFD Helps Irvington Football Team With the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge

On Friday August 22nd, the Irvington Fire Department helped the Irvington Football team with the ALS Ice bucket challenge. The crew brought Ladder 36 to assist in the dowsing of the team. When it was all said and done, the team was a tad bit chilly and wet!

The Irvington Fire Department wishes the Irvington Football team the best of luck in this years season.

Lieutenant David Dowd, August 19

On Tuesday August 19th, the Irvington Fire Department teamed up with Tarrytown's Tower Ladder 78 to drill on large diameter hose operations. Members of each department practiced on Irvington's ladder as well as Tarrytown's tower ladder. E-178 and E-177 drafted from the Hudson River and drivers were able to practice their drafting skills. Firefighter I Graduation

Lieutenant David Dowd, August 06

On July 30th, 2014 three of Irvington's bravest graduated from the Westchester County Fire Training Center after taking Firefighter I. Firefighter I is a 90+ hour class where firefighters learn the basics of firefighting concepts, practices and techniques. The training is rigorous and time consuming.

Lieutenant David Dowd, July 23

On Tuesday July 22nd, the Irvington Fire Department's water rescue team trained with the Elmsford Fire Department's water rescue team. Both units went to the Irvington Reservoir where they deployed their Zodiac boats. Members got comfortable utilizing their boats and the teams worked together.

Village Fireworks!

The Village of Irvington celebrated July 4th a day late due to the inclement weather. The fireworks were fantastic as well as the weather. The Irvington Fire Department stood by to ensure the safety of the village residents as well as the team setting off the fireworks.
