FAST Training

A number of members of the Irvington Fire Department partook in a 4 night in house FAST Team training class. FAST or firefighter assist and search team operations are critical to the safety of firefighters during an event. Members were trained in how to extricate downed firefighters during firefighting operations.

Ice Rescue Training

On March 1st, members of the Irvington Fire Department took an Ice Rescue Class. The day started with a class room session and then firefighters went to the Irvington Reservoir to practice their skills. Firefighters performed the role of rescuer as well as victim. Fire Department Training News

Lieutenant David Dowd, February 20

During the week of 2/16/15 the Irvington Fire Department was trained in First Aid and CPR/AED training. Members watched videos and received hands on instruction from instructor Joan from the Briarcliff Ambulance/Fire Department.
