By IFD Reporter
January 23, 2013

A fire in a multiple family dwelling this afternoon was suppressed by the buildings fire suppression system. The fire, caused by mishandled oil from a eucalyptus oil candle, quickly ignited the contents in an apartments kitchen. Firefighters arrived to find a small fire still burning but were able to quickly extinguish it. The sprinkler system was successfully shut down and firefighters assisted with containment of the water released from the system.

Chief Ruffler said "this incident clearly shows how fire suppression systems really help save lives and property.
