Ice Rescue Training

On March 1st, members of the Irvington Fire Department took an Ice Rescue Class. The day started with a class room session and then firefighters went to the Irvington Reservoir to practice their skills. Firefighters performed the role of rescuer as well as victim. The firefighters who braved the cold water obtained Technician level certification. This was a great training which allowed firefighters to learn skills in the water and on land. Both elements are critical to a safe operation.

We want to thank our instructors and all members who attended.
