FAST Training

By Lieutenant David Dowd
April 4, 2015

A number of members of the Irvington Fire Department partook in a 4 night in house FAST Team training class. FAST or firefighter assist and search team operations are critical to the safety of firefighters during an event. Members were trained in how to extricate downed firefighters during firefighting operations.

The drill instructors from Dragon Rescue Management provided real world stories and techniques that they have used throughout their professional careers as firemen throughout NYC and Westchester County.

The Irvington Fire Department is committed to keeping their members trained and safe. Thanks to all those that participated and we look forward to doing additional FAST training soon.
