Members of the Irvington Fire Department had the rare opportunity to train on a house that is scheduled for demolition. During the training, members practiced the following skills: roof ventilation, checking for fire extension in walls and ceilings, exploring different landmarks in single family homes (i.e. kitchens, bedrooms, hallways), how to turn off the water to a house and lastly how to turn off the gas to a house. This was a great training for all that were involved especially some of our newer members.
