Hands on Training
Email Print RSS Facebook Twitter RSS

By 2nd Assistant Chief David Dowd
March 3, 2017

On Thursday March 2nd, the Irvington Fire Department secured a building scheduled for demolition. It is very rare that the department can secure a building for demolition and practice hands on training. Members from Irvington and Tarrytown did a number of evolutions including; wall breaches, pulling ceilings, cutting the roof while stationed on a ladder as well as cutting the side of a house to create an opening. Teams were able to use hand tools as well as saws.

This was a great training by all involved and an excellent way to train with other departments.
