Firefighters extinguish blaze on Main Street

Irvington Firefighters were called to the scene of a fire Friday afternoon after contractors working on a roof started a small fire. Embers from the roof dropped down between the buildings and ignited debris and siding in between the buildings. The fire eventually worked itself into the structure of the building causing minor damage. Firefighters from Tarrytown, Dobbs Ferry and Elmsford assisted Irvington with extinguishment.
