Quick work by firefighters limit damage to house

Irvington Firefighters were summoned to a home Monday afternoon for a report of a fire in the attic. Upon arrival, the chiefs were able to contain the fire to a small area of the attic with extinguishers followed by complete extinguishment by crews from Engine 178. The cause of the fire is under investigation but does not look suspicious at this time.
