As the region prepares for the arrival of hurricane Sandy, firefighters spent multiple days assisting the Village of Irvington Water Department help lower the level of the reservoir. Using Engine 178 drafting capabilites, crews pumped water out of the reservoir and down the spill way at the rate of almost 1000 gallons per minute. The village hopes that lowering the the water level will alleviate some of the flooding issues down stream on station road.
