| The Irvington Fire Department's anglers enjoyed a very successful day catching bluefish in the Sound this past Sunday, October 15th. A big "thank you" to Dennis Montaruli for weeks of hard work planning and organizing a great event, as well as to Captain Chris and the crew of Island Current II for smooth sailing and some serious fishing. The blues were biting early and often, and Captain Chris kindly extended our fishing time until there was no more bait but a bag of chips or two.
Morris Lamberti, father of Firefighter Andrew Lamberti, won the prize for first fish with an impressive bluefish. Firefighter Ron Lillo brought home the honors of biggest fish of the day with a monster of a blue. Son of 2201 Edward Natkin came in second place with a 10 pounder. |
