| After a week long effort by firefighters to clean, paint and prepare the equipment and firehouse for inspection Chief James Ruffler says "Inspection 2012 was a success!"
On Saturday October 6th, Irvington Firefighters welcomed public officials, neighboring fire chiefs and other guests to inspect the department and celebrate 132 years of service to the community.
The annual ritual of having guests inspect the firefighters, equipment and headquarters gives firefighters the opportunity to show off and be proud of their year long effort of hard work. At the completion of the formal inspection at headquarters, the group headed to the Marriot for dinner and presentation of awards and honors.
