Cold temperatures and drizzle created havoc around the area Sunday morning, December 13th. The ramp from I-87 south to Saw Mill River Parkway north in Elmsford turned into a sheet of ice causing more than 15 vehicles to pile up. Irvington and Ardsley Fire Departments were dispatched to assist while Elmsford was out on additional calls. Some occupants were transported to the hospital with minor injuries but no one was seriously hurt.
